At the Asia Clean Energy Forum 2014, Pramod Jain was a panelist on June 18 in the "Promotion of Utility Scale Renewable Energy Applications" session.  He spoke about challenges of developing economically viable utility-scale wind projects in new and emerging wind markets.  Experiences from Quantum Leap in Wind Power in Asia and the Pacific were presented.

For the Energy Sector Activities IDIQ Contract of USTDA (US Trade and Development Agency), Innovative Wind Energy, Inc. is pleased to be subcontractor to Tetra Tech. IWE will provide expertise in the area of Wind power generation for select developing and middle-income economies across five regions: East Asia; Latin American and the Caribbean; Middle East, North Africa, Europe, and Eurasia; South and Southeast Asia; and, Sub-Saharan Africa. 

On June 16, 2014 at the Asian Development Bank HQ in Manila, IWE is organizing Quantum Leap in Wind 2014 workshop. The workshop is part of pre-ACEF (Asia Clean Energy Forum) day-long sessions. "Every year, ACEF brings together hundreds of policymakers, project developers, investors, and technical experts from around the region for Asia’s premier event on clean energy technology, policy, programs, and financing" (source http://www.asiacleanenergyforum.org/). The 2014 Quantum Leap in Wind workshop will focus on answering the question: “What are the issues that continue to hinder wind power development?” The workshop will use this as the anchor question while addressing the grid integration facet of wind energy projects in the Asian countries.

In Makassar, Indonesia from Feb 17-21, 2014, IWE conducted a workshop. The 5-day workshop covered topics related to impact of wind energy on the grid. The hands-on workshop covered steady-state and dynamic stability modeling, system operations and wind resource assessment. The workshop is part of USAID's Indonesia Clean Energy Development (ICED) project.

Quantum Leap in Wind and East Asia department of ADB are organizing the Wind Energy Integration workshop for Developing Member Countries (DMCs) with participants from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, China, India, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines and Sri Lanka. Indonesia Wind Sector Impact Assessment project will assess the wind resources, evaluate the potential impacts of wind projects on the safety, reliability, power quality and operation of the power systems, and recommend interconnection technical requirements and strategy to optimally integrate wind power into operation of the power grids in Indonesia.

Wind Energy Engineering by Pramod Jain, was translated to Chinese by Li Yanfeng & Xie Dongmei, and published by China Machine Press in June 2013.

IWE is working on ADB project "Scaling Up Renewable Energy Access in Eastern Indonesia," with CastleRock Consulting. The project is in the island of Sumba. The goals are to achieve 100% electricity generation from renewable energy, and to significantly increase electricity access from current level of 25%. IWE is providing wind energy consulting in the area of wind resource assessment.

IWE has launched DataWizard.me, a Software as a Service (SaaS) for wind measurement data management and reporting. General Energy Corp (GEC) of Illinois uses this service for its 60 meter met-tower. DataWizard.me supports wind data from up to 15 channels and four fields (mean, standard deviation, max and min) for each channel. Release 1 of the service provides data visualization through line chart, wind rose and frequency plot of the data. It has capability to take data from multiple met-masts, display charts for different aggregation (hourly, daily, weekly and monthly), and choose the date/time window. DataWizard.me is in partnership with SpinSpire.com.
