Pramod is the international consultant to Ministry of Energy and Water (MEW) of the Republic of Lebanon. Project is funded by UNDP. Project involves data collection about current electricity markets, investigation of power rental agreement, writing of bidding document for the 50 to 100MW of wind farm project, creating an outline for the grid code, and creating an outline for the power rental agreement.

Pramod presented at the How2Guide Workshop: Wind Energy. Presentation was on Planning and Infrastructure for Wind Energy in Asia.

Pramod Jain was invited by the WEDAP (Wind Energy Developers Association of Philippines) to present to wind energy developers on the following topics: Financing of wind energy projects, Wind Resource Assessment and Impact of Uncertainty on Wind Projects. The session was attended by developers, Energy Regulatory Commission, Department of Energy, National Transmission Company, and others.

Abstract: Wind energy policy has a thirty year history starting from early 1980s in US and EU; early 1990s in India and China; early this century in Brazil, and South-east Asia. This presentation will elaborate on the evolution of various types of policies—Feed-in Tariff, Quota-based policies, and other market-based policies. None of the countries got the policy right in the first iteration. Based on experiences in different countries, there is no recipe for a perfect policy or a perfect combination of policies. This presentation by Dr. Pramod Jain, President, Innovative Wind Energy, Inc. and ADB's international consultant on Wind Energy QLW TA will address the lessons learned from 30 years of wind related policies around the World.

Wind Energy technical assistance to the Energy Regulatory Commission of Mongolia. Visit to 50MW Salkhit wind farm, under construction. Meetings: Vice-minister for Energy, National Transmission Company, National Dispatch Center, Mongolian Wind Energy Association, National Renewable Energy Center, and Wind Energy Stakeholder's meeting.

IWE assisted in organizing the workshop. Pramod Jain moderated a case-study session on June 4, and Wind Resource Assessment, Technology/Infrastructure sessions on day 2.

IWE is consulting on several wind energy projects in early stages for GEC in Wisconsin, Illinois and Nebraska.  Consulting services include preliminary wind resource assessment, uncertainty analysis and preliminary financial assessment.

Pramod Jain and co-author Jitu Shah of Asian Development Bank will present "Opportunities and Challenges of Wind Development in Asia, not including China & India" at the AWEA Windpower 2012 Conference in Atlanta on June 4, 2012

IWE has partnered with Foundation Engineering on measurement of tower movement relative to foundation. The measurement campaign design includes selection of sensors and datalogger, design of fixtures and software to process displacement and strain data. Measurement of about four dozen towers has led to diagnosis of "loss of integrity" between lower part of tower and foundation, and recommendations for remediation.
