Repowering of Wind Farms

Client: Asian Development Bank

At the request of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) of India, the Asian Development Bank funded technical assistance project—TA-10317 REG: Accelerating Clean Energy Transition in Asia and the Pacific—is exploring repowering of wind projects in India. Repowering is replacement of older wind turbines generators (WTG) that are close to end of life with newer and higher efficiency WTGs, with the goal of generating more than two to three times the energy from the same high wind resource area.

IWE is working on this project in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Karnataka.
